Published on July 15, 2019, a 55-year-old man is in police custody in Nyandarua for allegedly defiling his stepdaughter.
A Class 8 student, the teenage girl reported to her teachers that her father had been sexually abusing her for the last two years.
Her teachers informed village elder Grace Muthoni, who then accompanied the victim to Ol Kalou Police Station to report the matter.
Confirming the suspect's arrest, Nyandarua Central deputy police boss Florence Karimi said the girl is in safe hands now.
The suspect will be arraigned immediately police complete investigation, Ms Karimi added.
