On July 14, 2019, Cameroon retained their women's Africa Nations volleyball title after a thrilling five-set game against Kenya in the final at the October 6 Hall in Giza, Egypt.

Kenya's Malkia Strikers had twice fought to level the scores at 2-2 before losing the tiebreaker, as the West Africans triumphed 25-17, 25-27, 25-23, 23-25, 16-14.

Despite a strong performance, Kenya's poor reception ultimately cost them the title, with Cameroon capitalizing on the opportunity to win.

Senegal won bronze after defeating the hosts, Egypt, 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 14-25, 28-26) in the playoff match earlier at the venue.
