Chelsea manager Frank Lampard marked his second match in charge with a 4-0 win over St. Patrick's Athletic in Ireland, with Olivier Giroud scoring a brace and Mason Mount and Emerson Palmieri each netting a goal.

Published on July 14, 2019, Lampard was full of praise for his strike duo, Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi, who did not find the back of the net but impressed with their display.

"I thought Tammy (Abraham), in the first half, alongside Michy (Batshuayi) was very good," Lampard said in an interview to Chelsea TV. "Between the two of them, they have shown exactly what it is I want. Energy off the ball as well as on the ball and quality."

Lampard also commended Mason Mount, whom he worked with at Derby, and Ross Barkley, noting that they had a good game 'full of energy'.

This was Chelsea's second friendly of their Ireland preseason tour, having drawn 1-1 with Bohemians in their first match.
