On July 14, 2019, Ambassador Yvonne Khamati, Director of Foreign Services in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was treated to a surprise baby shower as she prepares for her second child.
The event, themed blue and white, was attended by close friends and family members, including notable names like Sports Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohammed, who is her former boss.
Amb. Khamati's friendship with Amb. Mohammed dates back to when they worked together while Amina was the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
Photos shared on Instagram show an excited Amb. Khamati surrounded by her loved ones, celebrating the upcoming arrival of her second child with her Nigerian fiancé Laiwola Yahaya.
Interestingly, Amb. Khamati's firstborn daughter, Zalika, was born in 2001 to her former partner Vincent Kilonzo.
