Published on July 14, 2019, former AFC Leopards coach Sunday Kayuni has made a shocking claim that the Kenya Premier League outfit will never win the domestic title.

According to Kayuni, the team's last taste of victory was in 1998, when he was at the helm of affairs. Since then, the team has been unable to reclaim their glory, with their closest rivals, Gor Mahia, dominating Kenyan football.

Kayuni, who was unceremoniously axed as Ingwe head coach by the then chairman, the late Francis Chahonyo, has now come out to allude the club's title drought to his curse on them.

"It is true I cursed AFC Leopards and they will never win the KPL title again. Even if they sign Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola, they will not win the league," Kayuni told Goal.

He further stated, "I was fired like a dog and chased away and the pain I went through during that period was very hard to take. It was very unfortunate all this happened after I had helped the team to win the title and it will remain their only title," he declared.

Leopards will be looking to turn around their KPL fortunes when the season kicks off next month.
