On July 14, 2019, it was reported that Victor Wanyama, the Harambee Stars and Tottenham midfielder, was set to collect his British passport in a few weeks' time.
According to reports, Wanyama had turned down a move out of England the previous year to ensure he qualified for his passport, as British law demands that a person has to reside in the United Kingdom for over six years to qualify.
Having lived and worked in the Kingdom for over six years, Wanyama now qualifies for his passport.
This news comes amid strong speculation surrounding the Kenyan's departure from the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, following the expensive summer arrival of French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
Wanyama struggled with a knee injury last season but made a strong comeback, and he also made three appearances for Kenya at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, where they were eliminated in the first round.
Reports in The United Kingdom claim that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for Wanyama among other stars as Manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to rebuild for another title charge.
