On Saturday, July 13, 2019, the national women volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, made history by defeating Senegal in the African Championship in Cairo, Egypt.

The team secured a straight sets victory of 25-13, 25-13, and 25-19, setting up a thrilling final match against Cameroon, whom they had previously beaten in the group stage.

Kenyan fans took to social media to celebrate the team's victory, with many arguing that it was a perfect revenge for their AFCON heartache against Senegal.
