On July 13, 2019, a brazen robbery in Ngara, Nairobi, left three people injured, two in critical condition, after fleeing gunmen shot them in an attempt to escape with Sh140,000.
The incident occurred on Murang'a Road, where the gunmen stole from a scrap metal dealer before making their getaway on a motorbike.
As the public attempted to block the suspects at Guru Nanak, the situation escalated, resulting in the shooting of the three individuals, including a boda boda rider and two others who responded to the alarm.
The police report indicates that the first man was shot and injured in the leg at Guru Nanak area at 10:10 am.
Nairobi police chief Philip Ndolo confirmed that officers are hunting for the gunmen, who were caught on camera as they fled the scene of the crime.
Witnesses reported that the thugs were armed with a pistol and an AK 47 rifle.
A motorbike used by the criminals was later recovered in Dandora after it was abandoned.
