Kenya 7s rugby star Alex Olaba is facing a warrant of arrest after failing to appear in court for the second time in a rape case.

The warrant was issued by Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku, who had scheduled to deliver the judgment on June 12th but was left waiting for Olaba.

Olaba's lawyer claimed his client was stuck in traffic and couldn't arrive in court on time, but the magistrate was not convinced, pushing the matter to July 12th.

However, Olaba failed to appear again, and the judgment has been deferred to August 5th.

Olaba is accused of gang-raping a Kenyan female singer alongside his teammate Frank Wanyama at Nairobi's Highrise Estate on February 11th, 2018.

Both players were freed on a cash bail of Sh500,000 each in August last year after pleading not guilty to the charges.
