On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga joined in the fun at the traditional wedding of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo, dancing to local tunes at the Kamugumo Primary School in Ngariama Ward, Gichugu Constituency.
Published on July 13, 2019, the ceremony was an elaborate traditional wedding (ngurario) with guests dressed in colourful African attire.
President Kenyatta, dressed in a white shirt untucked from his black trousers, swayed back and forth to the rhythm, while Raila, in a Kaunda suit, stuck to his stiff dancing style.
Other notable guests included Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, Senate Minority Leader James Orengo, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, Youth and Gender Affair CAS Rachel Shebesh, Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, and Gender Commission member Priscilla Nyokabi.
However, Deputy President William Ruto was noticeably absent, as he was on tour in Tharaka Nithi County.
