On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Valtteri Bottas secured pole position for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, narrowly edging his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton by 0.006 seconds in qualifying.

Hamilton, the current championship leader, had been favored to take the top spot, but Bottas's impressive performance denied him the pole position.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari qualified third fastest, ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who won the last race in Austria a fortnight ago.

Four-time world champion Sebastien Vettel starts from sixth in the second Ferrari.
