Media personality Nancy Wanjiru, famously known as Shix Kapienga, has made a significant career move by joining NTV as the host of a new weekend entertainment show called Jamdown.
According to a post shared by Kapienga on Thursday, March 24, 2022, she will be hosting the show alongside Nicholas Mugo Mwangi, better known as Ruffest Dj Moh.
The Reggae show will air every Saturday from 10pm to midnight, replacing Stella Katiwa, popularly known as Miss Katiwa, who announced her exit after a four-year stint at the Kimathi Street-based media house.
Shix Kapienga's experience in the entertainment industry stems from her radio career, TV shows, and film production. She has also gained popularity as an emcee for various events.
Her journey in TV began with the Beba Beba Show on NTV, where she played the role of Tasha. This exposure led to more opportunities, including roles in Shuga, Papa Shirandula, and Nairobi Half-Life.
At Hot 96, Kapienga was the host of the Dropzone show with co-host Rapcha the Sayantist. Her departure from the station in June 2020 was surrounded by controversy, with Kapienga stating that she was shocked to learn of her retrenchment.
"It is not like I have achieved what I needed to achieve at a certain age, but I’m not complaining, but it was too abrupt," she stated during an interview with Adelle Onyango on her Legally Clueless podcast.
