On July 13, 2019, Migori County Government announced its partnership with Akothee, an award-winning artiste from Migori County, to organize the Migori County Empowerment Festival 2019.
The festival, a platform for the youth of Migori County to showcase their talents, ideas, and creative processes, will be a three-day event featuring a medical camp, agricultural talks, women empowerment, corporate product showcase, and full-blown entertainment and artiste performance.
Present during the announcement were Migori Governor Okoth Obado, comedian Owago Onyiro, and Akothee's manager Nelly Oaks.
The event is set to take place before December 2019.
