On July 13, 2019, Algeria's Ministry of Defence announced a special arrangement to transport 2,000 fans to Cairo for the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Nigeria.

According to a statement, the army high command, in conjunction with Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui, decided to add six military planes to the existing flights to transport 600 Algerian supporters to cheer on and motivate the national team.

Additionally, Air Algeria will transport 1,400 supporters on 10 planes, bringing the total number of fans to 2,000.

The supporters are scheduled to leave Cairo after the match, but if Algeria wins, they may stay on for the final against either Senegal or Tunisia.
