On July 13, 2019, the Export Promotion Council (EPC) recognized firms that had been outstanding in growing Kenya's exports through the Kenya Exporter of the Year Awards (KEYA). The ceremony aimed to motivate local firms to sell their goods to different markets.
According to EPC Chief Executive Peter Biwott, the awards were part of the council's efforts to achieve the Big Four Agenda by recognizing excellence and inspiring ambitious companies to export more to boost the economy.
