A disturbing case of alleged defilement has come to light in Nakuru North, involving a high school teacher and a 16-year-old student.

According to the victim's family, the teacher sneaked the student out of school in June and assaulted her at his house.

The family claims that the school management was negligent in resolving the matter, suspending and later expelling the student for allegedly sneaking out of school.

The mother of the victim recounted the events leading up to the alleged assault, saying that her daughter arrived home a day before schools went on half-term, looking tired and exhausted.

Despite producing a doctor's report, a copy of a P-3 form, and an OB number from Bondeni Police Station, the school management insisted that the girl needed counseling.

However, the Director of Public Prosecutions has since directed the police to issue a warrant of arrest against the teacher, who was suspended this week.

The police had sought advice from the DPP on the matter, which was reported at Bondeni and Maili Kumi police stations last month.
