On July 12, 2019, Xiaomi teased the upcoming Android One Xiaomi Mi A3 device, hinting that the launch date is near. The teasers came after reports that the Mi A3 would be the global version of the recently launched Mi CC9. However, according to German publication WinFuture, the Mi A3 will be a blend between the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e.

According to Roland Quandt, the man behind the latest report, the Mi A3 will feature a 6.0-inch 1080p AMOLED display screen with a teardrop notch at the top housing a 32MP selfie camera. The triple-lens setup on the Mi CC9 also keeps its place on the Mi A3, meaning you’ll get a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP shooter in the top left corner of the back panel.

The fingerprint scanner won’t be on the back, instead, Xiaomi will hide it under the display screen. Under the hood, the Mi A3 will reportedly come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, a significant improvement from the previous reports of a Snapdragon 730 chipset.

The RAM stays at 4GB, same as the Mi A2, while storage options will be two – 64GB and 128GB, although the latter is likely to be allied to 6GB RAM, much like the Mi A2. A microSD card slot will be present on this device too alongside a 4000mAh battery, 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C port, and fast battery charging.
