Published on July 12, 2019, police in Nyali, Mombasa, arrested 11 women suspected of being part of a group that records pornographic videos.

Two individuals, Merceline Atieno and Enock Ochieng, believed to be the proprietors of the online pornography business, were also detained.

Police suspect that Atieno runs a webcam service, Chat Bate, in partnership with an international media company, Multi Media LLC.

During a house raid, authorities discovered 16 laptops, cameras, mobile phones, flash disks, and sex dolls.

The suspects appeared before Shanzu Senior Principal Magistrate Florence Macharia on Friday but did not take a plea.

Police requested additional time to conclude their investigation, which was granted, and the suspects are expected to appear in court again on Tuesday next week.
