On June 11, 2019, 11 women were arrested in Nyali, Mombasa, for filming pornography.

According to Nairobi News, the women, who are believed to be Kenyan citizens, were detained at the Nyali police station and will be arraigned in court on Friday.

The police commander for Mombasa County, Johnston Ipara, confirmed that the women were filming pornography in a rented house.

"We also found 15 condoms that we believe were used for the filming," Ipara said.

Ipara added that the leaders of the group, who were arrested along with the women, will be charged with promoting pornography and exploiting young girls.

This incident comes just a few months after a similar case in the same area, where a man was arrested and 12 Nepalese nationals were detained for filming pornography.
