On July 12, 2019, Diamond Platnumz announced that he had signed a new artist under his Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) record label.
The new artist is set to be introduced to the public soon, but Diamond has not revealed their identity yet.
However, this is not the first time Diamond has hinted at signing a new artist. Last year, he shared a video of Elvis Who signing his song and hinted that he was going to sign a Kenyan artist.
At the time, Diamond wrote on social media, 'As we are about to Launch @wcb_wasafi Branch in KENYA…Please help me tag all the Kenyans Talented artits, you would like to be signed under @wcb_wasafi, starting with this one….. (Kama unavyofaham mwaka huu @wcb_wasafi tunafungua Tawi jipya nchini Kenya, Maalum kwajili ya kuendelea kunyanyua vijana wenzetu wenye Vipaji tokea mtaani.. tafadhali nisaidie kuwatag vijana wote wenye Vipaji kenya, akianziwa na Huyu…)
However, when we reached out to Elvis Who about the issue, he denied knowing whether WCB had even signed an artist.
He said in an exclusive phone interview, 'No, it’s not me. I didn’t know they had signed anyone. But no, that’s not me.'
