July 12, 2019 - Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has indicated that the club's transfer window will not be the busiest, with fit-again Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and teenager Rhian Brewster set to compete for starting places.
Despite finishing second in the Premier League last season, Liverpool's transfer business has been relatively quiet, with the club signing only 17-year-old defender Sepp van den Berg from Dutch top division side PEC Zwolle last month.
However, Klopp has expressed his confidence in the abilities of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Brewster, who both impressed in a 6-0 pre-season friendly win at Tranmere Rovers on Thursday.
"We brought them in already, only you don’t realise it," Klopp told reporters when asked about potential signings.
"Brewster, Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t play last year. All the young boys today … they’re all new players for us," Klopp added.
With the transfer market open until August 8, Klopp has hinted that the club may make some signings, but it will not be the biggest transfer window of all time.
"The transfer market is open until Aug. 8 … we will see what we do but I don’t think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time," Klopp said.
