On July 12, 2019, a Sudanese tourist was arrested by Kenyan authorities for taking suspicious photos of the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) and City Hall in Nairobi.

According to Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, the tourist, identified as Mohammedalmuntasir Altayib Ahmed Hussein, was caught by locals who alerted the police after he was seen taking photos of the buildings.

"Today, a foreign national with a Sudanese passport was seen taking photos and videos of City Hall and KICC. Locals informed the police," Sonko said in a Facebook post.

The 44-year-old tourist was arrested and taken to the KICC police station.

Investigations revealed that the tourist had entered the country using a Kenya Airways flight, number 402, and was staying in the country as a tourist.

However, the motive behind his actions remains unclear, and further investigations are ongoing to determine whether he was a legitimate tourist or had ulterior motives.
