On Wednesday evening, a group of hooded thugs stormed an eatery in the outskirts of Machakos town, targeting Area Traffic Base Commander Huron Addinasir.
According to Machakos County Police Commander Farah Maalim, the thugs snatched a pistol from the senior police officer and assaulted him.
Maalim stated that the injured officer was briefly admitted to Machakos Level 5 Referral Hospital before being transferred to Nairobi South Hospital for specialized treatment.
“He was having his supper at the joint when the gang attacked and injured him after robbing him of his gun,” Maalim told journalists at his office in Machakos town.
The gang members reportedly stole an unknown amount of money, jewelry, and other personal effects before escaping.
Maalim emphasized that the police are still investigating the incident and have not yet speculated on the motive behind the attack.
