Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has expressed his desire to continue leading the Premier League club beyond his current contract, which expires in 2024. However, his decision will depend on his energy levels at the time.
Klopp, who has been at the helm of Liverpool since 2015, has achieved significant success with the club, including winning the Premier League, the Champions League, and the League Cup. The German manager has been instrumental in the team's recent resurgence, with Liverpool winning their last 11 games in all competitions.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Liverpool's Premier League game against West Ham United, Klopp emphasized the importance of his energy levels in making a decision about his future. He stated, "I love what I do, but I've said it a couple of times -- there must be something else outside there in the world, to be honest."
When asked about his comments, Klopp added, "At the moment, I am full of energy but I have to make sure that's the case (in 2024)." He also joked that he could make a last-minute decision about his future, saying, "Let me say it like this -- that's not a problem. No, the plan is the future of the club that we are constantly working on."
