On July 10, 2019, a tragic accident occurred on US 30 in Allen County, Ohio, claiming the life of a Kenyan man.
Alex Wanjiru, 39, of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle collided with a semi-tractor-trailer driven by Mark Meyer.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Meyer's truck was attempting to make a left turn onto a local road when it was struck by Wanjiru's vehicle, causing both trucks to veer off the roadway.
Mark Meyer was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, while Alex Wanjiru was pronounced dead by Allen County Coroner's Investigator Jamie Sizemore.
The accident remains under investigation by authorities.
