On Thursday, July 11, 2019, Kenya's national volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Cameroon 3-2 in a five-set thriller at the October 6 Hall in Giza.
Kenya will face Senegal in the semi-finals of the Africa Nations Championships on Saturday after topping pool B.
Cameroon, the champions, will face hosts Egypt in the other last four encounter, with a slot in Sunday's final at stake for the winners.
Kenya's coach, Shaileen Ramdoo, made one change to the starting lineup, replacing Trizah Atuka with Sharon Chepchumba, and the team responded well to the change, winning the third set and going on to win the match.
"It is a great result because we started very slowly unlike Cameroon who thought they had it. Key changes in players allowed us to seize control of the game and we are glad we got the win," Ramdoo said in his post-match comments.
