On July 11, 2019, a heinous crime shook Kapkawa Village in Nandi County when a 32-year-old woman allegedly hacked her two children to death.
According to Joseph Koech, the Kabolebo Sub-location Assistant Chief, the suspect, identified as Floxy Cheptoo, killed her 7-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son.
The bodies of the two children were discovered after a villager noticed blood spots in a pit latrine, prompting the neighbours to alert the police.
It took the efforts of the villagers and the police to recover the mutilated bodies of the two children from the pit latrine.
Police have launched investigations into the incident as a hunt for the suspect continues.
