Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor Arrested Over Alleged Irregular Payment

On Thursday afternoon, detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested Nyakach Member of Parliament Aduma Owuor in Kisumu.

According to EACC Communications Officer Yassin Ali, the MP was apprehended over alleged irregular payment of Ksh.68 million to a law firm by the Nairobi County Government.

At the time of the alleged irregular payment, Mr. Aduma was the former Acting Director, Legal Affairs at City Hall.

The lawmaker was arrested while having lunch at Gor Mahia Hotel in Kondele, Kisumu.

He is expected to be transferred to Nairobi for further interrogation pending arraignment.
