On July 11, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto cautioned against divisive politics in the Jubilee government, stating that some officials were spreading false information about him.

Speaking to Milele FM, Ruto said, “There are people using weed in the government. Their work is to roam all over the country preaching how Ruto is determined to divide Jubilee and take power by force in 2022. Let’s concentrate in developing the country and stop politics of witchcraft.”

He urged politicians to focus on developing the country rather than engaging in divisive politics, and warned Kenyans against supporting early campaign modes.
