Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has been holding consultative meetings with ambassadors of various western countries to discuss cooperation and collaboration in fighting corruption.

According to Haji, the aim is to share a list of persons charged with corruption with foreign countries to restrict them from traveling abroad.

He met with 11 envoys on Tuesday in Nairobi before leaving for Italy for official duty.

During his meeting with Italian ambassador Alberto Pieria, Haji discussed possible collaboration between Italy, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution on capacity building, mutual legal assistance, and investigation in combating corruption.

Other countries visited by the teams include the UK and USA, which have pledged to help in the war on graft.

This is not the first time these countries have threatened to ban suspects from visiting their territories.
