Gor Mahia Releases Seven Players Ahead of New Season ¶
As the new season of 2019/20 approaches, Gor Mahia has confirmed that it has parted ways with seven players. The move comes as a surprise to many fans, who had expected the team to retain its core players.
The players who have been released include Francis Kahata, Jacques Tuyisenge, and Erisa Ssekisambu, who joined Simba SC in Tanzania. Castro Ogendo, a defender, has also left the team to join Petro Atletico in Angola.
Other players who have been released include Pascal Ogweno, who joined Nakuru AllStars, and Cercidy Okeyo and Shaban Odhoji, who also left the team. The players were released on July 11, 2019, as the team prepares for the new season.
According to a statement from the team, the players were thanked for their service and wished well in their future endeavors.
The team has since signed new players to replace the released players. The new signings include Tobias Otieno, Curtis Wekesa, Dennis Oalo, Abdalla Shira, Elvis Ronack, David Kissu, and Dickson Ambundo.
