On Wednesday, a 16-year-old student from Alara Mixed Secondary School in Homa Bay County tragically took his own life, leaving behind a family in shock and grief.
The student, Wycliffe Omondi, hanged himself with a rope in his parents' house at Kawanga village, Rachar Sub location in Ndhiwa Sub County.
According to the area Assistant Chief James Adika, Omondi's parents had given him the school fees he required, but he still chose to end his life.
Adika informed the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding Omondi's death and urged parents to talk to their children to understand their personal problems.
The boy's body was moved to Homa Bay County Teaching and referral hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
