On August 8, 2017, Martin Kamotho, known as Githeri man, made headlines after being spotted queuing to vote carrying githeri in a nylon paper to satisfy his hunger.
However, his celebrity status was short-lived as pictures of him drunk on a trolley went viral on social media, sparking concerns about his well-being.
Despite being honored by President Uhuru with a HSC and being branded a national hero, Githeri man's drinking habits have been a great concern, with some even calling for his rehabilitation.
President Uhuru assisted Kiambu Women rep Gathoni to take him to Mama Care Rehabilitation Centre, where he spent 9 months, and even issued him with a certificate during the graduation ceremony.
But it seems Githeri man's drinking habits are yet to let go, with recent photos showing him intoxicated on a trolley.
