Published on July 11, 2019, a BBC documentary has exposed allegations of interference in anti-Semitism investigations within the UK Labour Party.

Former officials, including Iain McNicol, the main opposition's former general secretary, have broken non-disclosure agreements to reveal that members of Jeremy Corbyn's inner circle had intervened in probes into anti-Semitism within the party.

Labour's deputy leader, Tom Watson, described the revelations as 'harrowing', saying, "I am shocked, chilled and appalled by what I've just seen on 'Panorama'".

However, a party spokesman countered that Labour was taking decisive action to root out anti-Semitism, labelling the documentary an 'overtly biased intervention by the BBC in party political controversy'.

Hope Not Hate's Nick Lowles also weighed in, stating, "It showed the downplaying of serious allegations. It showed an appalling lack of understanding of the hurt, and fear, felt by Jewish party members and the wider Jewish community".

The party has been plagued by accusations of anti-Semitism since Corbyn took over in 2015, with the leader insisting he is not anti-Semitic and vowing to 'root out' the problem.
