Published on July 11, 2019, a special edition of JKLive commemorated the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, shedding light on the enigmatic Boys' Club he founded.
The club, comprising a small circle of wealthy CEOs and professionals, includes notable members such as former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Scan group CEO Bharat Thakrar, KCB's Joshua Oigara, and Rich Management CEO Aly Khan Satchu.
During the JKLive special, members shared intriguing stories about the club's activities, leaving observers to ponder the true purpose behind its formation.
Jeff Koinange recounted a heated exchange with Collymore, which led to a temporary departure from the WhatsApp group, only to be forced back in with a stern warning.
Peter Kenneth fondly remembered a private trip to Lamu, where Collymore piloted a helicopter before they boarded a boat to Manda Island. However, their peaceful moment was disrupted by a 25-minute call from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
‘He goes to a corner of the boat and he’s in this very tight conversations looking serious so I ask him what’s wrong with you we dint come here for phone calls and he says ‘Shhhhh’, Peter Kenneth remembered.
The club's members are known for their secrecy, rarely discussing their family lives or engaging in social activities. Instead, they meet, drink, and enjoy life in private, with some members, like Joshua Oigara, making headlines for their unusual fashion choices.
