Published on July 11, 2019, Diamond Platinumz has spoken out about the alarming rate of HIV spread among the youth in Tanzania, citing a lack of protection during intimate activities as a major contributor.

During a recent conference, the musician revealed his intentions to campaign for sexual abstinence among the youth, using his platform to educate them on the importance of safe sex practices.

He also plans to utilize his upcoming performance at the Wasafi Festival in Kagera region on July 19 to spread awareness about the disease and its prevention.

However, Diamond's advice to the girl child has sparked controversy, with some critics accusing him of being hypocritical given his own history of relationships.

He was quoted as saying, 'Kiukweli sisi wanaume ndio tunakuwaga wa kwanza kulazimisha, yaani unataka mtu lakini asitumie kinga, sisi wenyewe ndio tunaongoza.'

He further emphasized the need for women to take a stand against the spread of HIV, stating, 'Wanawake wakitusaidia kuweka misimamo kama hiyo, haiwezekani, haitawezekana.'

Despite his efforts to raise awareness about the disease, Diamond has faced criticism for his own actions, with some accusing him of being a hypocrite given his history of relationships.
