On July 11, 2019, a tragic incident shook the family of Richard Muchesia, a former Kakamega MCA, when he killed his wife and then took his own life, leaving behind three young children.

According to family and friends, Richard's wife, a nurse, was allegedly having an affair, which did not sit well with him.

Speaking to Nyakundi Report, Everlyne Nahonzo, Richard's sister, revealed the last conversation she had with him before the incident. Richard had called her to lament about his wife, claiming that her employee had stolen her and they were colluding to have him arrested.

'He called me and told me that his wife's employee had snatched his wife and that they were now colluding to have him arrested,' Everlyne recalled.

Everlyne tried to calm him down, advising him to let go and move on, but Richard was consumed by anger and hurt.

'I told him to just let things go after all there are so many women out there,' she said.

Richard's relationship with his wife had deteriorated to the point where she had reported him for allegedly raping their daughter.

When he called his sister, Richard was struggling to comprehend how his wife could lie about such a thing.

'He asked me, 'Eva can I do such a thing as raping my daughter?'
