On February 11, 2018, a night that would change the lives of two Kenyan rugby players forever, Wendy Kemunto alleged she was raped by Alex Olaba and Frank Wanyama at Seefa Apartments in Nairobi's Highrise Estate.

Olaba, 25, and Wanyama, 24, who was the captain of Kenya's second sevens team at the time, have been suspended from the national squad pending the outcome of the case.

According to Wendy Kemunto's testimony, the two players drugged her and then raped her. She claimed she was in denial, shock, pain, and exhausted, and did not want to report the incident due to the profile of one of the rugby players.

However, the two players have denied the allegations, stating that the sex was consensual. If found guilty, they face a minimum sentence of 15 years.

Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku is expected to make a ruling in the case, which has been ongoing since April 2018.
