Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala is set to make his indoor debut at the Miramas Métropole Indoor meet in France on February 4, 2022, a World Athletics Indoor Tour bronze label race.

Omanyala believes competing in indoor races will help him improve his start time by perfecting his movement off the blocks.

"I am so excited about the indoor season because previously, I have always watched it just on TV but now I am going to compete," Omanyala said, adding that he has been training extensively on block starts to perfect his start.

He aims to perfect his skill in the first 50m of the race, which he believes will enable him to cut a few seconds off his time, particularly in the 100m dash.

Omanyala is scheduled to run three more races in Paris after the Miramas Métropole Indoor meet before flying back home to prepare for the outdoor season.
