Published on July 10, 2019, the Kenyan economy has been experiencing a surge in entrepreneurship and start-up financing, attracting investors' attention and leading to the establishment of several business incubation initiatives.

One such initiative is the e4Impact Incubator, which provides financing to help start-ups attain scale. The incubator recently graduated its first cohort of 20 start-ups, drawn from various sectors including agri-food, fashion design, green business, and renewable energy.

The start-ups gained access to professional services such as marketing, legal assistance, and accounting, as well as facilities like office space and Internet connectivity for 12 months. They also received international and local coaching and mentoring, with some businesses paired with Italian companies working in the agriculture and renewable energy sectors to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices in Kenya.

The e4Impact Incubator has now concluded the selection of a second cohort of entrepreneurs, choosing start-ups based on the novelty of their idea, their revenue so far, the people behind the idea, and the business' social and environmental impact.
