On Tuesday night, a tragic incident unfolded in Migori County, where a baby lost their life and two others were left fighting for their lives after allegedly being poisoned by a maid.
According to Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge, the deceased child belonged to the maid, Mrs. Linda Endekwa, who was relieving the suspect of her duties at the time of the incident.
”The other two children belonging to the suspect’s boss survived though still recuperating,” Mr. Nthenge added.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, fled the scene and is currently being hunted by the police.
Mrs. Bertha Oluoch, the maids’ employer, reported that she had just arrived home from work when she found her two children complaining of stomach pains and vomiting.
She rushed them to St. Joseph Omboo Mission Hospital, where they were found to have developed complications after eating the evening meal prepared by the suspect.
Collins Mwanga, a clinical officer at the hospital, stated that there were traces of poison and further tests were required to determine the exact substance ingested.
