On June 30, a man fell from the landing gear compartment of a Kenya Airways flight to Heathrow Airport in London, sparking a massive investigation.
According to London's Metropolitan police, the man landed in a garden in the Borough of Lambeth, South London, after falling from the undercarriage of the aircraft.
The incident occurred on a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to London, with the plane taking off from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on June 29.
A multi-agency team, including the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and the police, has been reviewing over 1,000 hours of CCTV footage from JKIA, but so far, no suspicious activity has been detected.
Every staff member on duty at JKIA between June 29 and 30 has been accounted for, although interviews are still ongoing.
Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) had initially stated that the multi-agency team was reviewing CCTV coverage of flight KQ100 recorded 24 hours prior to departure, and all staff who came into contact with the aircraft were being interrogated.
As of July 10, 2019, the identity of the stowaway passenger remains unknown, with the investigation still ongoing.
