On July 10, 2019, Samsung Galaxy A80 arrived in Kenya, marking the beginning of the Galaxy A series' local presence. The series now boasts at least six models, with the superior Samsung Galaxy A90 expected to follow suit.
First reported by Android Kenya on June 2019, the Galaxy A90 was initially linked to 45W fast battery charging. Subsequent reports hinted at a 5G variant, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.
Recent developments suggest the Galaxy A90 5G will feature a substantial 4500mAh battery, comparable to the Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy A70. The device will be sold globally as model SM-A908B, unlike its Korean counterpart, model SM-A908N.
Although the Galaxy A90's local availability remains uncertain, the presence of other Galaxy A devices in Kenya indicates a possible local release. However, it's likely that only the non-5G variant will be sold in Kenya, given the country's limited 5G infrastructure.
The non-5G variant's specifications, including the battery size and processor, remain unclear. It's expected that these details will be revealed in due course.
