On July 10, 2019, a Nairobi court released State House digital strategist and blogger Dennis Itumbi on Sh100,000 cash bail.
The court ordered Itumbi to report every two days to the officer investigating the claim of a plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Itumbi was detained for five days to enable police to conclude investigations and question 256 members of a WhatsApp group known as Tangatanga, of which the blogger is a member.
