On July 10, 2019, the Milimani Law Court released State House digital strategist Dennis Itumbi on bail, with conditions that he deposits a cash bail of Sh100,000 and reports once or twice a week to Muthaiga Police Station.
Additionally, Itumbi's phone was to be released after 14 days, and he was restrained from posting anything related to his case on social media.
The hearing of the case has been set for July 22, 2019.
As a condition for his release, Magistrate Zainab Abdul asked that Itumbi's passport be deposited in the court.
During the court session, Itumbi sensationally claimed he has an audio and a video to prove there was a plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
He requested to play the recordings in court in camera, saying the investigators were aware he has them.
Itumbi stated, "I have an audio and video recording of material that could show, subject to investigations, that a meeting could have happened at a place called La Mada at which discussions were held on the possibility of the assassination of my employer, particularly the Deputy President,"
