July 10, 2019, marked a significant day for Ivlyn Mutua, a young and ambitious musician, as she released her new music video 'Sham Sham', a bold move away from the gospel genre she was once associated with.

According to Ivlyn, her decision to convert from the gospel genre was driven by her desire to grow her brand and fan base beyond her religious roots. 'I am trying to grow my brand further, and grow my fan base; by making an impact on people who are not religious also I never really felt like being in the gospel genre was my calling,' she explained in a recent Q&A session.

The 'Sham Sham' music video, which has been making waves on various music platforms, was a challenging but rewarding experience for Ivlyn. 'It was extremely tiresome, energetic but fun. To me, this felt right I didn’t feel embarrassed I felt free; and I also discovered things I didn’t know about myself, for example, realizing I am a good actress,' she shared.

When asked about her personal and spiritual life, Ivlyn clarified that her decision to transition from gospel music was purely a career and business move, unrelated to her personal beliefs. 'My decision to change is purely a career and business move in pursuing my dream which is to grow my brand to the global mainstream stage. It has NOTHING to do with my personal, social and spiritual life,' she stated.

As Ivlyn Mutua embarks on this new chapter in her music career, fans can expect more exciting developments from this talented artist. 'Sham Sham' is now available on various music platforms, including Mdundo, Skiza, YouTube, Boomplay, and Songa.
