On 28th June, the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial analysts (ICIFA) elected Dr. Jonah Aiyabei as its new Chairperson during the group's Annual General Meeting. Dr. Aiyabei takes over from Job Kihumba, who served as ICIFA's first Chairperson from June 2016.
Dr. Aiyabei brings a wealth of experience in Finance and Investments, spanning over 16 years. He is currently the Executive Director of the Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas at Kenya Pipeline Company. He also serves as a Council member of the Mount Kenya University and a member of the KASNEB technical examination council. Dr. Aiyabei holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from JKUAT and an MBA from Kenyatta University.
Dr. Aiyabei was elected to the position of Chairperson after serving as the Vice Chairperson of ICIFA. He will be working closely with the newly appointed Vice Chairperson, Mr. Einstein Kihanda, who is the CEO of ICEA Lion Asset Management. Mr. Kihanda has over 20 years of experience in the investments industry and serves in various committees, including the Trade, Technology and Innovation Committee at the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
Other members of the ICIFA Council include the CEO Diana Muriuki, Judith NyaKawa, Dr. Nicholas Letting, Geoffrey Odundo, Duncan Elly Ochieng, and Catherine Theuri.
