Published on July 10, 2019, Anerlisa Muigai, CEO of NERO, has fired back at social media critics who were quick to speculate about her well-being after a brief absence from social media.

According to Muigai, it's heartbreaking how people dread others' downfall for their happiness. She notes that in this age of social media, there's a set standard of what one in her capacity should be doing every day, and she'll just do it for the gram.

However, Muigai cares less about social media validation, as long as she's in control of what she lets out to the world. She shared her thoughts in a series of posts, saying, 'It's funny, I go for 5 days without posting and people already thinking something is wrong with me to even sending bible verses??.'

Muigai also highlighted the issue of people waiting for someone's downfall to celebrate, saying, 'I just realised how many people wait for someone's downfall so they can celebrate.'

She emphasized the importance of controlling one's social media presence, saying, 'Social Media is a platform you got to control yourself.'

Instead of posting usual activities that people expect, Muigai would rather be posting about her life with family and friends, saying, 'I would rather be posting usual activities that people EXPECT, Then be somewhere so far with people I love and care about.'
