Published on August 31, 2019, gospel musician Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has confirmed his plans to venture into politics.
Speaking to K24's Betty Kyalo, Bahati revealed that he will be on the ballot seeking a seat in the 2037 elections.
His journey into politics will not come any time soon, as he confirmed that he will contest for a seat in the future.
Bahati stated that he is driven by the desire to uplift the lives of Kenyans, particularly those living in Nairobi's Eastlands area where he grew up.
He asserted that this is in line with his mission to be a voice for the African child and millions of poor people struggling to make a living.
Bahati expressed confidence in clinching the seat, assuring Kyalo that he will one day occupy the highest office in the land.
However, he failed to share how he would achieve his dream or if he would go for other seats before eventually going for the top seat in 2037.
During the interview, Bahati also gave the audience an insight into his flashy lifestyle, revealing that he charges between Ksh700, 000 to perform for 18 to 25 minutes.
Bahati is not new to politics, having graced several political events and given performances.
Most notable is his performance at Kasarani during the launch of Jubilee Party in 2016, when he came under attack after he literally took over the president's seat.
The incident put the president's security detail on the spotlight.
Bahati would later reveal that he has been barred from coming close to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Kenya has seen an increasing number of celebrities and musicians venture into politics.
