On July 9, Dennis Mango appeared before High Court Judge Jesse Njagi, charged with the murder of his colleague, Dennis Muhindi Amugasha, on June 17 at the Shambere Technical Training Institute in Malava sub-county, Kakamega North District.

According to court documents, Mango allegedly stabbed Muhindi in the chest during a fight over a girlfriend. The incident occurred after Muhindi, 24, saw a phone message from Mango to the girl, which allegedly sparked the confrontation.

High Court Judge Jesse Njagi ordered Mango to be held at Kakamega Main Prison, awaiting a pre-bail report on July 22.
